Weekly Photo Challenge: Trio | The Greenwich Mummy
Left: L, Middle: D, Right: Me

There are many, many things that comes in threes but I guess the one that applies to me is my sisterly bond. There are three of us; me (the eldest), my sister L, and my younger sister D.

We used to be like the three musketeers, always at each other’s side. We still are in some ways but as we’ve all grown up, we gone our separate ways a little. I am always at home or working, my sister L is with her son Lils or with her new beau, and my younger sister D is busy studying her first year at university.

There is nothing stronger than a sister bond though and despite our age gaps (about 3-4 years between each of us) we hardly ever fight… any more! 🙂 We always compared ourselves to the Kardashian sisters. We always said that I was most like Kourtney, the eldest and most reserved. L was like Kim as she is the middle girl and loves the flashy lifestyle, and D was like Khloé, the youngest and a bit of a wild one. It’s funny how we have similar enough traits to compare ourselves to the Kardashians but maybe that is like all sister trios? I don’t know.

So for this week’s photo challenge, I just wanted to dedicate it to my beloved sisters, L and D – I love you both very much and so happy to have you as my sisters.

Mwah!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ornate

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Ornate.”

This week’s photo challenge has to be dedicated to the wonderful Legoland Miniland!

Miniland was created using around 40 MILLION lego pieces – how impressive is that? Well, it may not sound all that impressive but I can tell you that seeing it in person was absolutely gob-smackingly good… and to top it off, the trains, buses, boats and cars were fully mobile which was amazing to see.

These photos don’t do much justice but just imagine how small a lego piece is and then imagine creating a building out of it – really impressive! We were so into Miniland that we actually didn’t see much else of the park but we didn’t mind to be honest.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Careful

Weekly Photo Challenge: Careful

This was on a sunny Saturday in Covent Garden. We were on our way to the London Transport Museum and made a quick stop at the Covent Garden Piazzo to see what all the commotion was. It was a man on a unicycle and we had come at the moment where he asked the audience for a volunteer. A young girl took up the challenge – she had to throw three juggling batons for the man to catch. If she was able to throw them to him successfully, she would win £5… which she did! 🙂

The man was careful enough to not drop any batons and the girl was cheered on greatly by the audience. It was an awesome day and so fun to watch!

I love a good sunset and nothing beats the view from my balcony. I thought this photo would make a lovely submission for this week’s WPC, change. I love the colours in the sky as it changes from day to night… it’s beautiful. I took the photos from my iPhone so please excuse the grainy image but I hope you can still appreciate the stunning sunset. You can also see The O2 all lit up ready for the night’s entertainment in the second photo. :).

Weekly Photo Challenge: Today Was A Good Day

A trip to Legoland for mine & LO’s birthday

http://me.sh/xwzej3k

This day was definitely a good day for all of us. Daddy P treated me to a wonderful spa day and LO had loads of fun at Legoland, especially at Miniland. Even though the majority of rides were for bigger kids, we managed to get on to a Fairy Tale boat ride with LO before he crashed out at the park. We only went on this one ride but the whole day’s experience to the place was magical and memorable. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Close Up

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Close Up”

This week’s challenge has encouraged us to get close up and personal with our subjects. I’ve got a few images for this – one by me, and two by LO (no, seriously LO actually took the photos – he’s great at it!)

So without further ado, here is my take:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Close Up

It’s a close up of a wilted rose. It was taken on my Saumsung S5 and I applied a filter to it which has really brought out the purple hue in the rose. You can also see all of that wonderful condensation on the bottle neck. I love condensation on glass. 🙂

And here is LO’s submission for the WPC Close Up challenge:

They’re meant to be “selfie” photos but he hasn’t quite gotten the hang of angling the iPhone front camera to shoot his whole face just yet hehe 🙂 He’s really good at taking these kind of photos and when I leave my phone with him, I’m always greeted with a lot of these ‘selfies’. He even applies the filters himself – the black/white is his fave followed by the more contrasted one. I thought this challenge was the perfect chance to use them (with his permission of course, plus the photos were taken on my phone which makes them mine right?!) as it’s a real close up of his wonderfully curly hair. You can see the variation in each curl, or bunch of curls shall I say.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Half & Half

Weekly Photo Challenge: Half and Half

Half of mummy and half of daddy, half-Vietnamese and half-Congolese… This week’s photo challenge is dedicated to LO. Both of our cultures and traditions are instilled in LO so he can grow up with the best knowledge of his dual heritage. I always make sure I speak to LO in Vietnamese as well as English and Daddy P reads French books to LO whilst speaking to him in English and sometimes French.

I hope that when LO grows up he’ll be fluent in speaking both languages as well as English and celebrate both wonderful cultures with his own family to carry on his dual-heritage.
