Baby Ballet is available all around SE London so check their website for your local one. We used to attend the ‘Tinies’ class (aged 18m – 3yrs) at St. Alfege’s church in Greenwich and our teacher was Miss Nicky. She’s a fantastic teacher – extremely friendly and has a brilliant energy perfect for the class. The class size for this age group is quite big and waiting list is long but worth the wait. For kids aged 3-4yrs, there is a ‘Movers’ class and this is run by Miss Chloe at The Forum (inside Christ Church) on Trafalgar road. Miss Chloe is very attentive and super friendly.
Music ‘N’ Movement (Deptford)
This music and movement class is aimed at children aged 2-4 years and encourages mindful movement with music and lots of play tied in. Expect lots of fun, songs, play and a great time for bonding with your little one. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult and is run at The Yoga Room by Talia on Wednesdays at 12.30pm.
Stay and Play at The Bridge (East Greenwich)
The Bridge is next to the East Greenwich Pleasuance park and has an indoor soft play area, books, toys, and an outdoor play area for children under 5s. There are various activities going on at their Stay and Play sessions including gardening club, cake and play, messy play, and the popular FrogPrince sessions.
Toddler sensory is an extension of the famous baby sensory classes but is aimed at kids aged 1-3 and incorporates free play, soft play and structured play. Trial classes are available for new families.
Teach your little ones those important survival skills in the water from as early as 8 weeks old. The classes at Queen Elizabeth Hospital classes are held weekly in their hydrotherapy pool which is small but warm (39 degree celsius). We loved our intimate class but if you prefer a bigger pool, there are classes at Charlton Park Academy and Lewisham hospital.
Does your little one love to dance and listen to music? If the answer is yes, then this group for your toddler. The classes enhance the children’s motor skills and hand/eye co-ordination through listening to the music, dancing, singing and playing musical instruments. A free taster session is available for new families.
This is a special football club for toddlers aged between 18-24 months to learn moves that will help improve their hand-eye co-ordination, gross and fine motor skills and keep them healthy, fit and active. It’s also a chance to get to meet other mummies and let your little ones build up a new set of friends. Classes are held Kidbrooke, Woolwich Common and Bexley and soon they will be opening a class in Greenwich but that will only be for kids aged 2+. You need to sign up online for the classes or go onto a waiting list for your chosen location. You will also need to pay a one-off membership fee which pays for your child’s football uniform and registration.
